It cost him about 14,000 dollars to build this house, which was a lot of money at that time.  There are 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms.  The entire residence is decorated with intricate wood carvings and various woodwork.  In 1892, John's wife died in the house.

He then married Anna Conlan, a widow with three sons, as his second wife.  John also died in 1902 and Anna lived in the Mclnteer villa for over a decade until her death.  That time was the golden age of the house.  The reason for this is that it is constantly crowded with children as well as relatives.
